lABLEd Podcast join forces with South Staffordshire College

If you were to ask us what three things LABLEd stood for, I think we’d say authenticity, opportunity, and education.

In our short time as podcasters, we’ve created a space where people have the opportunity to tell their stories, in their words, but we have also proudly given opportunities to work with us to form a production team of five.

Today we are announcing that we have teamed up with South Staffordshire College to add to our team, by taking on a student on Work Experience.

Speaking about the new partnership Lucy says: When Alice and I created lABLEd, we found ourselves on a learning curve, two years in, we believe the skills we’ve taught ourselves have value, and we are so excited to be able to have the opportunity offers a skills-supported placement to a media student who is eager to learn the joy of Podcasting’.

The role within the team can adapt and change with each new intern and can focus on their particular interests.

However, LABLEd realizes that our podcast isn’t just a fortnightly podcast, it has grown into a small Production House. Our first Intern Matilde Rose will be assisting with Social Media and developing our presents on TikTok and YouTube.

Chris Hopkins, Director of Faculty at the Lichfield Campus, South Staffordshire College said: I’ve had the pleasure of Listening to the LABLEd podcast, right since its inception, and know how hard Alice and Lucy have worked to create a high standard of production, and engagement for their listeners. Having one of our students work alongside the LABLEd team is brilliant, and something I know will be of benefit to all involved, but in particular Matilde as she continues her creative educational journey.

Lauren Smith Work Experience Coordinator, at South Staffordshire College added: We are delighted to be working with Lucy and Alice who are supporting Mathilde with her work experience journey. Mathilde will have fantastic opportunities to participate in with LABLEd, gaining high quality industry experience in the creative industry. Mathilde recently travelled to Leicester with Lucy and Alice to record for the podcast. I look forward to continuing the partnership and thankful for the opportunities Lucy and Alice are providing our students with.
