lABLEd Podcast Returns: A Bold New Season Exploring Disability, Identity and Advocacy

After a much-anticipated hiatus, the lABLEd Podcast is back with a fresh season filled with engaging conversations, thought-provoking topics and inspiring guests. Known for its unique blend of humour, insight and advocacy, lABLEd continues to be a leading voice in disability, illness and difference.

What’s new at lABLEd?

This six-part return sees episodes released weekly rather than fortnightly, with hosts Alice Evans and Lucy Wood diving deeper into a variety of subjects, exploring the intersections of disability, identity and society. From historical figures with disabilities to the latest advancements in technology, lABLEd offers a diverse range of perspectives and experiences.

Highlights include:

A Deep Dive into Disability History: Join Lucy and Alice as they chat with renowned disability historian Daisy Holder about her new book on queer and disabled history. Discover fascinating stories of historical figures like Michelangelo and explore the challenges of researching disability in the past.

 Navigating the Healthcare System: Chloe Hammond, the only wheelchair-using nurse with an assistance dog in the UK, shares her inspiring journey and the obstacles she’s overcome. Learn about the importance of mental health and the need for reasonable adjustments in the workplace.

Speaking about their return, Lucy Wood said: “‘We’re so excited to be back with a new season of lABLEd. The team have worked so hard and some incredible guests lined up and we can’t wait to share their stories with our listeners.

“Our goal is to continue to raise awareness about disability issues and to create a platform for diverse voices. We believe that everyone deserves to be seen, heard, and valued.”
